The Small Space Platform is designed to promptly create spacecraft by accommodation of various-purpose equipment on a base plate.
The platform includes the following airborne systems: control, power supply, attitude control and stabilization, thermal control and radio telemetry systems.
In 2001 there was launched the first experimental prototype of the space platform with earthquake prediction equipment (KOMPAS spacecraft). With the space platform long-term programs for earthquake prediction, ecology and monitoring and other missions can be realized.
The spacecraft based on the Small Space Platform can be launched by the SHTIL launch vehicle.
In May 2006 the KOMPAS SSP was successfully put into orbit by the SHTIL launch vehicle.
