Rocket-space developments

Beginning from the 90-s of the XX century the GRTs has made much R&D work in space rocketry what allows to expand the scope of the enterprise activities.

The activities on the space rocket designs are conducted in the following trends:

  1. Retrofitting of existing SLBMs to launch vehicles. The R-29R and R-29РR are updated for launching payloads and called “Volna” and “Shtil”, respectively. GRTs, jointly with the Navy, prepared and successfully launched from submarines the “Volna” and “Shtil” launch vehicles with home and foreign spacecrafts, including the “Kompas” small space platform. Launches of retrofitted missiles make it possible to try out the advanced space technologies of the XXI century under full-scale conditions.
  2. Development of new space rocket complexes including the “Air launch” space transportation system and “Rossiyanka” heavy launch vehicle with the reusable 1-st stage. These projects are of high economical efficiency.
  3. Design of small various-purpose spacecrafts. A small general-purpose space platform has been designed on the basis of which “Kompas” and “Kompas-2” spacecrafts have been created for short-period forecasting of earthquakes.
